Quick as Rainbows Souped Up!

Oooh! Our first ever review.

Saturday was the second Soup Kitchen night, with a girl fronted musical theme. The place filled up more than last time and I can see this night catching on as it was really fun. The music is more varied than some of the other nights around; last night I even heard Siouxsie & The Banshees' Spellbound'! Granted, I was the only one who got excited about this, but hey. I think this little night will grow and grow.

Thanks Emma!

Tales from The Kitchen

Well the second Soup Kitchen went much better than expected so a big thanks to the DJ's and to everyone who turned up. This was despite the manager of Latin Square badgering the DJ's about the music because he wanted party music, whatever that is, to be played. The venue normally plays Latin House or hip hop but we did tell him we were playing "indie" music when we booked the place.

Mind you on glancing upstairs they had hardly any customers there and as there were plenty of people downstairs I was puzzled to say the least. Still that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves and my big "40" went with a bang. Despite the bar takings which I guess were on the good side they were clearly unhappy with us being there especially judging by how rude the bouncer was as we were leaving. I guess we will not be back.

The next night should be at the end of November when we will try and tie it up with a Lost Music presents night.
