Scottish Flower Groove

I just like to add a few words about the last Soup Kitchen which Tom has so eloquently written about below. I shared the same fears as Tom that we wouldn't get many along. It's nice to be wrong, sometimes. The new Soup Kitchen turntable made it's debut. I, however, only spun one vinyl record - that being 'Since Yesterday' by Strawberry Switchblade. And the turntable suffered on the way home in the cab, and I am now trying to source a new tonearm weight as it fell off and I couldn't find it in the cab. I really need to get a flight case for the decks.

Musically I got to play the early set - which was fine by me and as such it was a fun experience playing a bunch of Scottish stuff to random Australians. They seemed to like it. One Japanese guy came over and proclaimed his love for early Primal Scream after I played 'All Fall Down'. That made me smile.

Where we go next with The Soup Kitchen is any ones guess but I have a feeling you'll be seeing us behind the decks again, somewhere and sometime in 2008.

I played a few 12" singles. It all sounded really good didn't it?
