Bunnygrunt have started their UK tour which takes in Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge, Nottingham, Sheffield and of course London over the next week. I believe it's their first ever UK tour and will be catching them on Friday night at Monkey Chews where they are being supported by Strawberry Story, Cooties Attack! and The Cut-Outs.The band have just appeared on the latest Happy Birthday To Me Records compilation and will be releasing a split 7" with Phil Wilson as part of that label's new singles club. They also will be releasing a 3" CD single on Wee Pop. In fact the gig on the 21st at Camden's Monkey Chews will be the single launch.
More on the band can be found at their Wikipedia entry.

The Tidy Ups are (or were as I think they have split now) a Swedish indie pop band. Their Wikipedia entry states that they were originally from Skellefteå, but most of the members now live in Stockholm. The band's members are Jenny Westerlund, Maria Stäck, Matilda Norberg, Olov Antonsson and Emma Andersson.
The band was started in 2002 by multi-instrumentalist Jenny Westerlund who is better known as part of the band Funday Mornings. They released their debut EP on Fabulous Friends Records in 2003; a label that had previously released Funday Mornings material. The EP, entitled "I've Been Waiting For A Million Years For The Bus To Get Me Out Of Here", contained 6 tracks and quickly sold out its limited run of 300 copies. On April 25, 2006, the Tidy Ups released a follow up EP called Dizzy Heights on Music is My Girlfriend records, another small independent Swedish label.
The tracks here are from the long out of print début 7" I've Been Waiting For A Million Years For The Bus To Get Me Out Of Here. Enjoy!

We saw the Jesus and Mary Chain in Brixton on Friday night followed by JAMC special at How Does It Feel To Be Loved so I didn't have too many doubts about posting a track of theirs this week. This is a version of Reverence taken from a limited edition 12" box set for Far Gone And Out. It was remixed by the Ministry & Revolting Cocks front man Al Jourgensen.

Whilst Collins is revered as a solo artist most fans of indie pop wil know him better as the founder and frontman of Orange Juice.
I have been busy transferring vinyl to CD recently and the following tracks are taken from two 12" singles released on Polydor in 1983 during the bands most successful period. The 12" version of Rip It Up is less funky than the single that charted at number 8 in 1983. Sadly the follow up Flesh Of My Flesh didn't repeat this success stalling at number 41. This 12" remix version, like the 7" one at the same time, was re-recorded and was not as good in my view as the one found on the Rip It Up album. However it has never been released on CD (I think!) so enjoy!
