35 Summers - I Didn't Try

35 Summers were a short lived band from Liverpool who appeared at the time of baggy and indie dance and who were thus lumped in with other bands such as Top and The Real People. As you can see via the discography on Twee Net the band didn't release that much although interest was rekindled when the track Really Down was included on Vol 4 of The Sound Of Leamington Spa series. The band also recorded two sessions for John Peel circa 1990/91.

I have been meaning to post something by the band since coming across posts on them at Sweeping The Nation and The Memorex Years, both of whom have more knowledge of the band than me!

The EP here is the for the single I Didn't Try with the obligatory dance remix which was all the rage at the time.

(note that these tracks are in wma format - sorry!)

About

Are You Scared To Get Happy takes it's name from the Bristol fanzine of the same name that was produced by Matt Haynes who later co-founded Sarah Records.

This little blog is just my tribute to the indie pop scene of years past and I hope you enjoy it. This blog is created in the spirit of my original indie-mp3 site which existed between 2002 - 2005 and is now a fully fledged music review site.

I endeavour to update it on a weekly basis with tracks posted by me being available for a limited period. Feel free to leave comments or contact me. If posting a track offends get in touch and I will take it down.
